Poppies With Purpose Hit the Runway at “Color Me Kentucky”

We were absolutely thrilled to be a featured footwear brand as our colorful, comfort-driven ballet flats took center stage at the University of Kentucky’s “Color Me Kentucky” fashion show on April 16th, 2026.

The theme was “Fashion Blueprint,” and the runway was a sea of vibrant brightness. It wasn’t just any fashion show—it was a celebration of creativity and community organized by the talented students majoring in Fashion, Merchandising, and Textiles.

At Poppies With Purpose, we’ve always believed that a pair of shoes can be more than just an accessory. Every day, we have a front-row seat to the proof that they are a tool for igniting courage and organic connection, especially for those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Seeing our bright, purposeful colors—pink for breast cancer and orange for leukemia—styled by the next generation of fashion leaders at UK was a powerful reminder of our “why.” The audience was eager to know more about “these” Poppies shoes, and we were honored to be featured as a mission-driven brand on the runway.

The “Color Me Kentucky” event highlighted the intersection of student talent, the local boutique community, and meaningful fashion design. Our shoes—known for their extreme comfort and purposeful, bold colors—were the perfect fit for a show dedicated to the creative spirit of the Bluegrass State and its talented students.

A huge thank you to the University of Kentucky students for their hard work, vision, and for choosing to feature Poppies With Purpose. We left the show feeling inspired to continue sharing our mission of providing comfort while igniting courage and connection—one colorful shoe at a time.

With color and purpose,

Xo
